Imagine a nappy that you can flush down toilet, or simply put in the compost!! Either way, no more nappy bucket, now more smell, no more nappy! And the nappy is going just where it belongs . . .  and not into landfill!!

!

Weenees ecoPads

  • break down to form useful compost in one compost cycle (this takes 50 to 150 days)
  • are hygienically flushable
  • are made from farmed trees: a renewable resource
  • are non-chlorine bleached
  • have no plastics, elastics, tapes, tabs or perfume additives
  • means low water consumption, and low domestic waste bills!

Click on the links below to see University tests showing the compostability of our ecoPads compared to typical "plastic" disposables and our animated life cycle of a flushed Weenees ecoPad.

Composting your Weenees ecoNappies

Weenees can make your child's wastes a positive contribution to the environment.

  • the wet pads break down quickly in standard compost systems (don't compost the poopy ones please! flush these down the toilet!!)
  • generally the best ratio for composting is two-thirds 'browns' carbon matter, in this case Weenees ecoPads, newspaper, paper products, shredded leaves, bark or straw, and one-thirds 'greens' nitrogen matter, eg. grass and soft food wastes
  • remember the ecoPads are wet when tehy go in, so your compost may need less water than normal
  • pads should be ripped in half before adding to the compost: the inner pulp composts faster than the outer shell
  • for more detailed information about composting, Galway County Council have a simple to follow brochure that can be downloaded from the web at www.galway.ie/pdf/COMPOSTING.PDF

  • In standard "plastic disposables" the plastic and pulp inside them are completely bound together as a baffle system, which has the advantage of being very efficient at absorbing and containing waste.  However, there is a significant disadvantage: "plastic disposables" take decades or even centuries to breakdown! Our Weenees Disposable ecoPads contain no plastic, elastic, tapes or tabs, enabling the pulp to be "recycled" through composting. With our ecoPads you can achieve disposable convenience without the environmental devastation.
